place on Wednesday 28 th June at 7:30pm sharp. The AGM will be held at
the pool, and all are welcome to attend.

The Board of Directors of Clara Swimming Pool wish to announce the appointment of Pearse Reynolds as Pool Manager.  Pearse is a member of Swim Ireland and she comes with significant experience in our sector.

The Board have asked Pearse to begin work on drafting a plan for the re-opening of the pool in order to meet the needs of our customers and the requirements of our main funder POBAL.

This position is funded by the Community Services Programmes operated by POBAL.

Clara Swimming Pool has been in existence since 1973. It is a Registered Lifeguard Training Centre and have Highly Qualified Instructors. Based on a 25m pool the facility was transformed in 2015 following the completion of a €1.2m refurbishment.

Due to impending retirement, the Board of Management wish to recruit a Pool Manager with a proven track record and possessing the requisite business acumen to successfully grow this local enterprise business through product offering and service excellence.

The successful applicant should possess:
• Strong self-motivation capacity
• Leadership and Managerial experience
• Positive commercial awareness
• A high level of interpersonal and communication skills
• Knowledge and experience of Swimming Pool management operations or similar environment
• Competency in the use of IT and social media
• Minimum Leaving Certificate standard required. A third level qualification in Business related discipline preferred but is not a requirement. General management experience preferred. Must have Lifeguard Training Certification, CPR & First Aid Certification

In light of the ongoing Covid-19 related restrictions, both the Swimming Pool and playground are now closed.

Clara Swimming Pool is a community owned facility run by a voluntary board of directors. The pool is a limited company not having a share capital since September 1999 which means that all income generated goes directly to the daily operation and maintenance of the pool. The board wish to provide an update on how the pool is doing in 2018 to date including details of the audited accounts for year ended 31st December 2017. A meeting has been arranged for Tuesday 6th November at 7:30pm at the Community House, Erry Mill, Clara and anyone with an interest in our local community swimming pool is welcome

General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) comes into effect from May 25th.

Clara District & Recreation Association CLG is the voluntary board of management which operates Clara Community Swimming Pool.

Most of the pool usage is based on a “pay as you go” basis. This means no personal details are recorded by our Reception staff upon arrival and no personal data is retained by the pool.

We do offer memberships and while the take up to date has been very low we are obliged under the new regulations to ensure that all members are aware of their rights. We are currently updating our privacy policy and details will be sent to all our existing members.

Aoibhe Finn competed at the European Downs Syndrome Swimming  Championships in England last weekend. Aoibhe won gold in the 50M back stroke, silver in the 25M back stroke and came 5th in 50m freestyle.
